We were delighted to host the students of the Occupational Health and Safety Program from Maltepe University Vocational School, along with their esteemed lecturers, Instructor Mustafa Kösem and Instructor Deniz Çelikkantar, at DESAN Shipyard.
During the visit, we introduced the students to the shipbuilding, repair, and maintenance industry as well as to the operations of our shipyard. They watched an educational video we prepared about the main activities carried out at our facility, as well as the potential hazards and risks encountered in our field.
The students also had the opportunity to closely explore our Occupational Health and Safety Applied Training Center, the first and only one of its kind in the sector. Here, they experienced the use of real work equipment, observed the working environment on-site, and gained valuable insights into occupational hazards and safety practices. They also participated in practical exercises on how to identify risks and develop effective preventive solutions.
We take great pride in contributing to the professional development and vision of young talents. DESAN Shipyard will continue to strengthen its collaboration with universities to help prepare future professionals for the maritime industry.
